The Best Liposuction Surgeon in Scottsdale

Sometimes, no matter how much your diet or exercise, localized areas of excess fat just won’t go away, even with a healthy diet and exercise.

Last year, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons revealed that liposuction in the US is the second most common cosmetic surgical procedure in women (just behind breast augmentation) and the fourth most common procedure for men. This includes those looking for the best liposuction Scottsdale based services.

Liposuction is a procedure which removes excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body such as thighs, waist or even the neck or face. If you’re in relatively good shape, yet nothing will improve these problem areas, liposuction is an ideal option to reach your goals. Liposuction will help improve your body shape and have long-lasting effects alongside a healthy lifestyle.

About the Liposuction Procedure

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes deposits of excess fat from specific areas of the body, face, or neck. Liposuction is best suited for women and men who are in relatively good shape but have localized areas of excess fat deposition that won’t respond to dieting or exercise.

Are You a Candidate for Liposuction?

Liposuction is often carried out where a patient is within a normal weight range, but there are areas of localized excess fat they’re struggling to get rid of, no matter what they do. It works best on adults with good muscle tone and elastic skin. Your surgeon will also check you’re physically well enough for the surgery and don’t have any medical conditions which may impair recovery.

You may be a good candidate for liposuction if you desire fat removal or contouring in any of the following areas:

  • Face and neck
  • Breast and chest area
  • Abdomen and waist
  • Hips, thighs and buttocks

While often used in combination with abdominoplasty, please note that liposuction cannot serve as a substitute for dieting and exercise, nor for the treatment of cellulite. If you are considering liposuction and plan to become pregnant or to lose a significant amount of weight, you should discuss these plans with Dr.Mazaheri.

During your consultation, you should discuss with your surgeon where your problem areas are so that he can recommend the best course of corrective action.

Common Liposuction Questions

Will my skin get much tighter after a liposuction procedure?

The answer is generally NO. If the skin is not damaged and still has good elasticity, the skin will “recoil” some. I have patients wear a custom garment for 6-8 weeks to help in this process. If you already have loose skin, liposuction is not the ideal procedure for you.

What does ``tumescent liposuction`` mean?

This is a technique in liposuction were fluid is injected under your skin prior to the initiation of your suction procedure. This fluid contains electrolyte solution, local anesthetic and epinephrine. This will reduce your discomfort and blood loss during the procedure.

What happens during a liposuction consultation?

When considering liposuction, your surgeon will discuss your personal goals and why you want the surgery. It’s important to remember that it’s no substitute for diet and exercise, and shouldn’t be used as a weight loss method. It can’t be used for the treatment of cellulite. If you’re planning to lose a lot of weight, discuss this with your surgeon first.

What are the benefits of liposuction surgery?

When there are parts of your body you’re unhappy with, it can lower your self-confidence and even prevent you doing things you want to. This could be something as simple as feeling uneasy wearing swimwear at the pool or not wearing the clothes you want to wear. If you’re trying to improve your self-image via diet and exercise, it can be disheartening when you can’t achieve the result you’re working hard for, lowering your motivation.

Liposuction can improve lives by increasing body confidence and finally tackling problem areas which you can’t target yourself.

Benefits of liposuction include:

  • Slim and contour specific areas of the body
  • Reshape problem areas which you’re finding difficult to target (where excess fat deposits aren’t responding to diet or exercise)
  • Treat multiple areas in one surgery
  • Can be performed alongside other procedures
  • Achieving specific body goals
  • Long-lasting results alongside a healthy lifestyle

After surgery, the results of your liposuction will be easy to see once your swelling has improved. Over the next few months, your leaner shape will be more visible. Check out some of our before and after liposuction photos to see some of our impressive results.

How much does a liposuction procedure typically cost?

The cost of your treatment depends on how much liposuction is required and whether you’re having the surgery as a stand-alone procedure.

Some women even combine liposuction with other procedures such as an abdominoplasty – more commonly known as a tummy tuck. If combined with other procedures to address body changes since childbirth, this package is known as a ‘mommy makeover.’ Once you’ve decided on the best course of action to meet your goals, your surgeon can provide you with an accurate quote.

Determining Your Treatment Plan

Dr. Mazaheri will always discuss your personal goals and examine areas which you feel need surgery. He’ll then be able to recommend the best plan for achieving your desired results. For example, liposuction doesn’t cause skin to get any tighter, so if you already have loose skin around problem areas, liposuction may not be the best procedure for you. If your skin has good elasticity and isn’t damaged, it will ‘recoil’ to some extent after liposuction, but Dr. Mazaheri can provide a custom garment to help with this process over the course of a few weeks. This will control the swelling and help compress skin to new contours.

Reducing Discomfort

Dr. Mazaheri and his team are dedicated to giving you the best experience throughout. To reduce discomfort and blood loss during the procedure, tumescent liposuction is used. This technique involves injecting sterile fluid under the skin prior to suctioning, and it contains local anesthetic, epinephrine (constricts blood vessels) and electrolyte solution (aids fat removal). After your surgery, Dr. Mazaheri and his team will advise you about how to aid healing, look after surgical sites and recover quickly. Alongside our aftercare instructions, we’ll also arrange your follow-up appointments to review the results of your surgery.

Feeling anxious about a procedure is completely normal, but please talk through your concerns with Dr. Mazaheri. He will be able to answer any questions you have, as well as outlining the steps of the surgery, costs, and recovery advice.
